Emiliee Encizo

Emiliee Encizo grew up in a small town called Lockney, Texas. She attended Texas Tech University in 2017 for undergraduate studies and graduated in 2020 with a degree in Psychology. While studying for the LSAT and applying to law school, Emiliee worked in education as a learning interventionist, a kindergarten assistant, and later as a staff member with the Afterschool Centers on Education Program (ACE). Through ACE, Emiliee had the opportunity to work with several elementary schools in the area and the Lubbock Juvenile Justice Center.

Working at the Juvenile Justice Center through the ACE program was a very meaningful experience. Emiliee had the opportunity to work closely with the kids there, hear their stories, and gain a deeper understanding of the challenges many families face. This experience further solidified Emiliee’s decision to pursue a career focused on advocacy and service. In 2022, Emiliee began law school at Thurgood Marshall School of Law.

Emiliee decided to pursue a career in law because she wanted to help individuals who may not understand how the legal system works. Growing up, Emiliee’s grandparents always did everything they could to help others. Seeing everything her family did for their community and even strangers shaped Emiliee’s values and instilled in her a strong desire to help others. Emiliee knew she wanted a career that would allow her to make a meaningful impact and help others. That is why she chose to be an attorney.
